The Consumer Ombudsman´s position on the Consumer Rights Directive chapter V

The Norwegian Consumer Ombudsman has analysed the possible effect of harmonising the rules on unfair contract terms.

The position paper from the Consumer Ombudsman provides examples of cases where the CO in the past has reached good results for consumers. Possible problems reaching similar results under the proposed Consumer Rights Directive has been assessed.

The position paper was referred to during the exchange of views in the Committee of Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) in the European Parliament on the 25 January.
